The engraving is permanent — the laser mark doesn't fade or wash off. Unfinished Baltic birch coasters should be wiped dry and not soaked in water. If you want added protection, apply a food-safe sealer to the wood surface. Acrylic coasters are inherently water-resistant and easier to wipe clean.
